Ben’s Testimony

God has blessed me in so many ways that it’s hard to make this into a short about me section. I was raised in a good church and was saved at the age of 6. My cousin had recently trusted Christ and she was constantly telling me that I needed to get saved. I did not really understand why but one day in children’s church it just clicked that I knew I had sinned and I was going to be punished. That day I trusted Christ as my Savior.

At the age of 12 I believed I was to be a preacher and go into full time ministry. The fact was though, that I did not understand much of what that meant. One thing I do know now though is that all this while God was moving me where He wanted me to be. In about a years time, God moved my family from the church I was at to Lighthouse Baptist Church in Dawsonville, Ga. God greatly used Pastor Charles Blackstock and others in my life to train me and prepare. It was through this church that God allowed me to go on my first mission trip to Peru, South America.

I was 15 years old and still remember vividly looking across a city of 1 million people who needed to hear the Gospel. God broke my heart for the world and I surrendered to be a missionary. I was not sure exactly where God would send me but I knew that my life was to be used for His glory on the mission field.

After my first year of college, God once again allowed me to go on a mission trip but this time it was to China. I can recall sitting in a darkened hotel room and viewing apartment building after apartment building that went on and on as far as I could see. Millions in a city with little to no gospel witness. I knew then that I would go to China for God’s glory.
